ENHANCING COMMITMENT TO PHYSICS USING LOCALLY SOURCED INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

Physics is an integral part of the science curriculum in educational landscape Nigeria. The subject has attracted extensive research attention primarily due to its relevance and growing concern about accompanying poor performance. Numerous literatures abound that suggest varying approaches increasing students interest, motivation, performance subject. However, effort geared towards improving commitment scarcely documented. present study was aimed determine whether there would be a difference physics between taught with locally sourced materials those conventional learning convenience sample 201 senior secondary school students. were pooled from Kogi state education system. A quasi-experimental pre-test post-test design adopted. result found statistically significant conditions. Thus, concludes instructional are indispensable teaching approach might increase physics. practical implication discussed.
